The boys basketball team went 9-7 during the season and had a chance to make the playoffs. They started off their season with a record of 5-1 before they got their second loss of the season.
They won their first game and lost their second and they were 1-1 after their second game. They went on a four game winning streak to get to their record of 5-1. They had a few losses and then they picked up a few more wins to get a shot at the playoffs.
In their tie breaker, they played Washington Irving High School. The Beavers defeated Washington Irving High School by a crushing score of 70-49. They trailed Washington Irving by a score of 11-14 after the first quarter, but they came back.
After the first quarter, the rout started. They won the game and moved on to the playoffs. The leading scorer was Deran Banton with 17 points and Taje Tait added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Jamaica moved on the the playoffs and they played East New York Transit Tech High School. East New York Transit Tech High School was one of the top ranked teams in the playoffs and they defeated Jamaica by a score of 68-37. Jamaica's playoffs dreams came to an end and their season ended with a crushing loss.
However, the Beavers made the school proud by making the playoffs, and they are looking foward to making another run at the playoffs next year.
